Released Team Member Profile: Raewyn
Meet Raewyn, Ops Manager extraordinaire.
Here’s what Raewyn had to share about her role and how she contributes to making Released what it is!
What might a typical day look like for you?
Every day is different for me, and I vary my hours according to what needs doing. I might start early and finish early, I might do some work in the morning and some in the evening, I might go into the office, I might stay at home. It’s great to work around the important things in my life (family, grandkids, social activities) and also stay out of Auckland traffic as much as possible.
Currently, I spend quite a bit of each work day assisting one of our clients with their onboarding process for new franchisees. I assist new business owners as they work through the onboarding process via a bespoke training portal.
I also work closely with the Released team members in my POD, ensuring that they have the answers to any queries and support as needed.
What’s your strength/specialty when it comes to Released’s operations? What do you do for clients and/or for Released?
As a POD leader and Operations Manager, managing and looking after people is a big part of my job. I build relationships with our team members, ensuring that they have what they need to be successful. I grow and develop the company culture, plus represent or cover for Kellie when she needs it. Additionally, I act as her sounding board—she bounces ideas off me to see what will stick.
How does your work help Released clients to make their business better?
By managing onboarding for one of my clients, I take the worry out of this process for them. They know that my team and I will work with each one of their new team members to ensure that they have completed all aspects of the onboarding process. My team and I are helpful and friendly and help each business to start well—and that’s exactly what our client needs from us.
What are a few items you couldn’t do without for a typical workday?
My laptop, my phone and a good coffee!
What’s your top tip for a tradesperson starting their own business?
Know your numbers! Focusing on the financial side of your business and understanding your cash flow and profit margin is vital if you want to succeed. I have seen so many business owners work longer and longer hours to try to solve their financial problems; they end up exhausted and stressed.
Taking the time to understand your business finances helps you to develop a long-term and sustainable business and to manage it effectively.
What’s your favourite part of working at Released?
I love the culture at Released. Working with a group of smiling and helpful people who are encouraged to grow and to learn new skills is a very positive experience.
Kellie's philosophy that 'no question is a dumb question and a mistake is simply an opportunity to learn' is very empowering.
Keep an eye on the blog for more team member profiles, and feel free to book a quick chat with Kellie if you’d like to find out more about how the team can help your business.
